Employee DEI council

launched at Gore Mutual in 2022

Fulfilling our purpose – insurance that does good – starts with looking inward: we are committed to doing business the right way, holding ourselves and our partners to a higher business standard.

Creating cultures where everyone can thrive

Being inclusive means fostering an environment in which we respect and celebrate the differences of all individuals. Leveraging our diversity helps us generate business solutions rooted in our purpose.

We strive to always do right by our people, whether they are a candidate for a new job, a recent hire or someone well into their career with us. At every stage, we want the employee experience to be engaging, purposeful and rewarding.

Diversity, equity and inclusion

Our journey toward diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is only just beginning. We’re taking a broad approach to integrating DEI into every part of our business.

DEI in everything we do

Culture

We are creating a culture where everyone can thrive, ensuring that the diversity of our workforce reflects the makeup of our communities.

Business

We are incorporating DEI principles into our product design, our services, and how we work with our suppliers and broker partners.

Society

We support organizations that reduce barriers for equity-deserving groups and create more opportunities for them to thrive.

Gore Mutual’s Employee DEI Council consists of 12 employees representing various areas of our organization, each of whom sits for a two-year term.

Their mandate is to:

  • Provide input and guidance on how best to integrate DEI
  • Foster a culture of inclusion across all teams and functions
  • Champion our DEI initiatives throughout the year

Committing
to climate action

Everyone has a role to play in combatting climate change. At Gore Mutual, we started our efforts by baselining our greenhouse gas emissions data, which we’re using to set targets.
