Canada Post Strike
Keeping you informed: Updates to you and your customers during the Canada Post National Strike
Updated information as of November 27, 2025.
Gore Mutual will be returning to its regular mail services, as the Canada Post rotating strike has been paused across Canada (except for areas in QC), the Ontario ban on “neighbourhood mail” has been lifted, and Canada Post expects to clear the remaining backlog in the province by the end of this week.
We will continue to keep you and our customers updated through our website as new information becomes available.
Policy Documentation
- Most policyholder documents normally mailed via Canada Post will be delayed until the strike is fully resolved.
- eDocs will continue as usual; please forward these to customers via email to ensure they are aware of billing statement changes and avoid NSF charges or policy cancellation.
Billing
- All refund cheques via Canada Post regular mail.
- All claims cheques will move back to Canada Post regular mail.
Claims
- Claims accident benefit letters will return to Canada Post effective immediately.
- Claim settlement payments will be processed electronically where possible.
Pending or Final Cancellations
- Non-pay registered letters of cancellation will move back to Canada Post registered mail effective immediately.
Additional services
- Brokers using eDocs will continue to receive policy documents as usual, while those with Guidewire access can view policy declarations, update policies, and make payments online.
- Customers can pay by credit card at https://www.goremutual.ca/pay-by-cc/ (without sending card details via email), or, if this option isn’t available, they can contact our Billing Team at 1-844-974-GORE(4673) for assistance.
- Customers can make payments via internet banking, phone banking, or through a bank teller by selecting Gore Mutual Insurance as the payee and using their policy number as the account number.
Thank you for your continued partnership and understanding.
