Auto theft is down 19.1% nationwide, with Ontario and Quebec leading the way. Gore Mutual is proud to support this progress through national strategy leadership and our Tag Tracking program—a simple, effective way to protect high-risk vehicles.
Canada is seeing encouraging progress in the fight against auto theft. According to Équité Association’s 2025 Mid-Year Auto Theft Trend Report, national auto theft rates have dropped by 19.1%. Ontario and Quebec are leading the way, with reductions of 25.9% and 22.2% respectively. These numbers reflect the growing impact of coordinated efforts across the industry to protect Canadians and disrupt organized crime.
At Gore Mutual, we’re proud to contribute to this momentum. Our Chief Claims Officer, Suzanne Courtlander, plays a key role in shaping national strategies as a member of Équité’s board. Her leadership helps ensure that prevention and protection remain top priorities.
We’re also taking direct action through our auto theft prevention program. One of our key initiatives is offering Tag Tracking—a proven deterrent that helps safeguard high-risk vehicles. It’s a simple, effective solution that gives our customers peace of mind, reinforcing our commitment to protecting what matters most.
Auto theft tactics are evolving, but so are our responses. Through strong partnerships, innovative tools, and a dedication to doing good, we’re helping drive meaningful change across the country.
